FSSC22000 was developed by the Dutch "Foundation for Food Safety Certification" and fully covers ISO 22000, It incorporates additional requirements from some of the industry-specific Technical Specification Prerequisite Programmes (PRPs), HACCP, CODEX (United Nations Codex Alimentarius Commission) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and has been fully recognised by the GFSI. FSSC22000 is a global, auditable and the most comprehensive food safety management system standard available.

FSSC22000 is applicable to all manufacturers of food products, food ingredient products, regardless of where the organization is located, whether it is for profit, whether it is a public or private company, its size and complexity.
FSSC22000 provides food companies with a set of globally recognized standards to demonstrate that they have established a comprehensive management system and fully meet the requirements of customers and industry regulations in terms of food safety. The standard is designed to cover all processes in the food supply chain, whether directly or indirectly related to the final product. It provides a unified food safety management method for enterprises in the food supply chain, and is easy to be accepted, implemented and audited by organizations in different links of the food supply chain.
Large retailers and food manufacturers require their suppliers to pass the FSSC22000 certification
FSSC22000 is currently internationally recognized food safety system, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Danone, Cargill, Kraft and other food companies as well as Metro, Walmart, China Resources Vanguard, Carrefour and other global supermarket chains have acquired the FSSC22000 certification.
At the same time, international retail giants such as Metro, Walmart, Carrefour and other global supermarket chains have adopted FSSC22000 as the market access standard. Cofco, Nestle, Mondelez, Pepsi, Danone, Coca-Cola, Carlsberg, Procter & Gamble, Cargill, Mars, Ferrero, McDonald's and other large manufacturers have passed FSSC22000 certification and FSSC22000 certification as the evaluation requirements of suppliers.
